Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

FAQ: FAQ

What exactly does Ivy Journey do?

Think of the application process as a difficult maze, where hundreds of people enter but only a few successfully finish it. Ivy Journey will be your tour guide, ensuring that you only take the safest and most efficient journey to successfully finish the maze. In more specific terms, Ivy Journey will connect aspiring applicants with very experienced consultants (most of whom attended a top 100 university) who will help maximize your chances of success.

Why does Ivy Journey not partner with universities abroad?

We have a commitment to always put our clients first. Partnering with universities, a practice that unfortunately many educational organizations do, means that the organization receives compensation for every student that they send to the university (an additional fee that students are unaware they are paying on top of university assistance). At Ivy Journey we maintain a strict interest-free policy for every application so that our clients get admitted to their top choice regardless of financial commitments.

What is the procedure for applying to universities abroad?

The application process is entirely dependent on the university and program. Some applications only require an essay, while most are more complex through mandating standardized test scores, letters of recommendation, CV, and other documents.

What are standardized tests?

Standardized tests such as the TOEFL, SAT, IELTS, GMAT, GRE, etc., comprise a method that universities use to evaluate a client’s knowledge. Each test is unique and requires months of preparation to reach a good score.

So you only change my essay?

We do much more than that. Depending on the contractual terms, Ivy Journey consultants tailor individual services to more than 50 programs worldwide, ensuring that every part of the application is as perfect as it can be. This includes but is not limited to essays, recommendation letters, resumes, short answers, and interview preparation.

Why are the prices so high?

Ivy Journey utilizes a tier-dependent pricing system in order to grant our services to as many as possible. Our prices reflect the amount of time and attention to detail that our consultants pay to each individual client, where the highest tier receives assistance from multiple Ivy League educated individuals.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes, Ivy Journey offers multiple ways of financing our services! You can easily ask your consultant during the pro-bono consultation about paying in installments.

Which services are offered for free?

We regularly post new educational programs online, as well as weekly general guidance into the world of educational applications. A pro-bono consultation is provided to all interested individuals.  Each individual is allowed up to two annual consultations for free.

FAQ: FAQ

Which services are offered only for clients?

  • Evaluating eligibility (Determining whether you are the right applicant for the program)

  • Providing application feedback (Essays, recommendation letters, CV, etc.)

  • Researching other applicable programs

  • Pro-bono access to the Study Room as well as snacks and coffee to help brainstorm

What are the 20-minute meetings?

The pro-bono consultation is meant to provide more information on how Ivy Journey can help you reach your educational goals. After a brief online assessment we will explain our tier system and evaluate whether you want to work with us as a client. These meetings will NOT provide any of the client-only services described here.

Can I come without scheduling a meeting?

While we accept unscheduled meeting during our working hours we cannot guarantee that we will be available for a meeting at that time. If you come without a scheduled meeting then you might have to wait upwards of 30 minutes for a consultation.

Do you offer discounts?

Offering discounts would imply a decline in the quality of our services. We are unable to offer discounts on individual tiers, however we offer price deductions when selecting multiple tiers or when partnering for multiple services i.e., (TOEFL course and university assistance).
